One of the most commonly asked questions I get from my clients and customers alike is; how much should I take? My reaction is always the same: there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
When it comes to CBD, everyone will have a unique response. There’s several factors that will effect how CBD will make you feel and how quickly you’ll begin feeling the effects. If taken orally, on an empty stomach, the effects will be felt almost immediately. If taken with a meal or applied topically (such as a balm or muscle rub) the effects will typically take anywhere from 5-15 minutes to begin taking affect. If consumed via smoking (flower, pre-roll, vape pen) the effects are typically immediate.
Again, keep in mind some people will feel the effects immediately, and some people it may take longer to feel the effects.
Another common question is how will I feel and how long will it last?
A calming, relaxed feeling is typically first effects felt, followed by relaxation of muscles and pain easement. Feelings of improved mood and general well-being typically last for several hours after consuming CBD. The anti-anxiety effects of CBD are also well known, with most people reporting they feel a drastic reduction in anxiousness and nervousness – and the consumption of CBD products leaves them feeling relaxed, calm and in a good mood.
The best way to approach CBD consumption is to start with a small measured dose, wait 20-30 minutes for the effects to take full-effect and then if you need more, take another small dose until you feel the desired level of pain-relief, mood improvement or anti-anxiety relief.
